Uni, stress, Relationships

I have to admit that I have been quite lazy when it comes to blogging. It’s week 4 now and i’ve started to get back into the uni life. I don’t really like it, but i guess its a part of life. You gotta graduate before you get a job. What can you do but enjoy it and make the most of it?

This semester’s been ok so far. The workload’s been alright but i do find myself behind on the readings… i guess it’s because of the 300 page book that turns me off. I know it doesnt match up to what other people have to read but hey.. hatereading through textbooks. The only book that i’ve been successful getting through lately is the bible. Finished reading James and will be starting on Ephesians. I must say the book of James has really been a real kick in the behind. If you really wanna know how you can be living as a Christian, read James!

Anyways, today i am happy ( not using the word ‘proud’ coz it makes myself seem like i’m boasting) with myself . Reason is because I finished a lab report without being too last minute, meaning i didn’t stress too much. Also, I finished writing a bible study based on 1 Corinthians 7 for the guys at Extreme (the youth group I lead at) check out the link here. It’s about relationships. Everyones favourite topic! It goes through what Christian men should be looking for in a relationship. It deals with whether Christian men should be seeking a relationship or not, why they should be seeking one, and what God’s purpose is for them.

The most important thing that I hope for them to get out of it is that it is both righ t for a Christian man to be single or in a relationship. Being single is an advantage as there is greater freedom to serve God. However, it is also good to be in a relationship and get married so that a man and woman might not sin.

The main thing is that whether we are single or in a relationship, is that we are fulfilling God’s purpose for us. That is to be striving to be more like Jesus and be presented perfect in him (Colossians 1:28).

Back to uni

All i can say is that my first day back at uni could possibly be the boring-est day of my life…

I wake up at 6.45 to get to a 9 am class… lecturer turns up 10 min late, and tries to log in 1000 times LOL and she didn’t realise the computer was locked. It took her 10 minutes to realise that before she could get the administrator to unlock the computer and have the lecture slides up. I just laughed

That lecture finished an hour and a half later and I went to grab some food to eat.

Anyway.. the point of this blog was to kill some time even though it is just killing 3 minutes. I dont have class till 6 and this excessively long break is killing me!

Holidays yooooooooo!

yeah… i know it’s been a while since i’ve blogged here, and that’s because I didn’t have the time or the opportunity to. Uni was just hectic with assignments to do and etc so there wasn’t really any time to go for a blogging spree =P.
But yes…since I had nothing to do today, I became extremely bored and I just thought I’d bring this blog back to life and start blogging again. (after all, it is the holidays)

What’s been happening recently

Let’s go back to a couple weeks before exams started…. that was when I started jamming with some of  the guys (plus nikki)  from church. These guys had a vision to start a band which initially had the goal to play at an evangelical event called ‘Switch’. It was not long before we decided that they would play for other events such as Extreme camp and wherever there was an opportunity to serve God. This band had the vision to serve God, as well as others through the gift of music. Each member wanted to use the talents that God had given them to serve Him and I supported that vision. That was why I had joined the band,  it was a great opportunity to be serving God.

Being in the band for a couple of weeks, we’ve been playing worship songs that were normally played in Gracepoint ( evening church service) as well as other random songs. Two weeks ago, we started to write our own songs which I am really excited about. There was a cover that was done of  a song which I dont think I am allowed to name because it’s meant to be secret. But yeh.. we recorded that onto an iphone and it was reallyy….. LOL? haha.. but yeh. Good times =]

These holidays have been pretty good. It’s been really good to catch up with people and to see how they’ve changed over the semester.

The worst thing that happened to me these holidays was losing my bright red wallet. T_T So I spent the last couple days replacing all my important cards and have already spent $71 on 2 cards…*sigh*

Mid Sem Break!!!

Yeah, that’s right! My mid sem break is here and i had an assignment due yesterday. It wasn’t really an assignment, more like a lab report. Don’t think I did a good job of it though haha.. it was coz i rushed it over Monday and tuesday. I think i was supposed to research some more for the discussion part. oh well… it’s over now so now i shouldn’t stress over it. Time to enjoy the rest of this week doing assignments! …yay how fun =.=
Haven’t blogged here for a while due to the fact that I’ve been really busy doing assignments and studying. There wasn’t much happening that was worth blogging about til last week. Yes, this past week was a pretty good week. Two events had occurred, my birthday, and church camp.
On the day of my birthday, I was expecting a whole day of uni. 10am-8pm. But as i was sitting on the train to uni, a friend called to tell me that the lecturer called in sick and the lecture was canceled. I was close to uni and I had to hand in an assignment so I just kept going, handed my assignment in and called 2 friends out to spend the day with me. We watched ‘Race to Witch Mountain’ coz it seemed interesting and it wasnt too bad. After the movie and eating lunch, I went back to uni for my other class. It sucked but i don’t regret going back. I was able to learn something. =P
Thursday, I met up with the same people plus one because i had originally planned to meet with them on Thursday since it was my day off. To my surprise, they got me a cake. it was pretty lol. But yeah they got me something else on tuesdaY, they got me a mini snooker table. The balls weren’t even the right colour. But it was still thoughtful. That’s all that counts.
We watched “Fast and Furious” and then i had to go to my dentist appointment. I missed the train i was supposed to catch but there was a train waiting there going to my destination so I rushed towards it and made it. One of my friends, holding the left over cake tried to pass it to me whilst the doors were closing. She jambed it between the doors and let go and the then the cake dropped on to the ground. It was still edible, it was just destroyed. The poor cake bunny lost its face lol.

Church camp was on the weekend following my birthday. It was good fun being able to meet some people i’ve never met before and being able to learn about the importance of mission and how much this world needs God. So many people don’t know God and it is important for Christians to reach out to the people that need to know God. Christians shouldn’t just whip out the ‘Two ways to live’ booklet but they should share their lives with these non-believers. Let them understand why you believe, love, and follow this God so that they too may know God and come to love Him. You are either the mission field, or a missionary of the gospel! Which one are you? Are you the mission field or a missionary?

3 weeks gone just like that

Well, it has been a while since my last blog.. I blogged before but deleted it before but it had offended some viewers even though I didn’t think so. In being considerate, I deleted it and did not have the time to blog.

What has prevented me from blogging lately has been the lack of boredom/free time haha. So now I have taken some time out today to blog a bit just to reflect on what I have been doing lately.

So it’s been 3 weeks of uni gone like that and I have been working on my assignments and have lab reports to write… how fun yeah?
And you were wondering why I havent blogged in a while…

Yesterday I went to a social for SOP people (music people for church) and it was good. It was fun hanging out, eating food, playing on the wii. Best bit was going home from Hunters Hill. There is no station there so the only options for transport was bus or ferry to the city then train home. I took the ferry option. It was fun =D
So I caught the ferry and then caught the train home in 2 hours. Longer than I had expected but not too bad.

Whats new?? I met this girl called Luriel, she’s from California and I love her. haha
How did I meet her? wouldnt you like to know =P

47 Sunday????

On Friday, a mate and I decided to go to Parramatta Westfields coz we knew it was gonna be hottt as. It apparently reached around 39 in my neighbourhood. I don’t know if that were true but it was pretty hot that day.

If it was a hot day, and you didn’t have an aircon.. how else were you supposed to spend the day without getting sunburnt? lololol… the SHOPPING CENTRES =D

You know what the best thing about shopping centres is…. its the air- conditioning.. Why’s it better than the ones at peoples houses? Coz its FREE! What an asian hey?

Oh yeh… whilst on the train.. we saw the Daily Telegraph lying on a chair with the number 47.. YES… NSW was going to face 47 on sunday. Did it happen? I dunno.. it didnt happen where I was thats for sure coz i’m still breathing and typing this blog.

A few tips were given on how to stay cool. They were basically advice on keeping hydrated and keeping cool such as going to the shops or cinemas… what a coincidence ay? So glad we decided to go to westfields =D

So what did we do at Parra? We met up with one of my friend’s friend and then went bumming around shopping for stuff he wanted. I had the urge to buy stuff now =.= but i didn’t see anything i wanted. I saw egg speakers, pretty funky ones too.. but they were out of stock.. must’ve been pretty popular.. just a bit too late..=( so i still had the urge to buy something and walked past a phone shop. Saw silicon covers for my phone and decided to buy one. =D i was happy LOL.. looks sexy i think hehe ^^

We had plenty of time to kill.. so we decided to watch a movie.. didn’t know what to watch but we just picked a random movie. The next movie showing that we all had not seen was ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ (click for trailer). None of us knew what it was about except the fact that it was about an indian guy. Bollywood movie? Not being racist here.. but i dont usually like bollywood movies. to much dancing and singing in one movie. It like they break into a song every 2 seconds.

Anyways.. we ended up watching Slumdog and it was surprisingly a good movie. I would rate it a 9/10 since it was better than what i expected. Also, it wasn’t like a typical bollywood movie which was a plus for me. I recommend that movie!

Later, his friend had to go home and so did we.. we went to the park and it was still hot by the time we got there.. check out the vid!

Danny’s Dance Revolution

Lately, I haven’t been doing much… yesterday I went to a mates house. Played a bit of pool.. I heart that game. Just hitting the balls into the pocket is an accomplishment =D We didn’t just play pool… we ate food and played some games on the playstation. “What games did you play?”  I hear you ask.. well my friend (LOL) we played tekken something… i forgot what number it was haha.. played NBA, and played DDR which brings me to what I did today!

No.. I didn’t play DDR today.. I made a video of Danny’s Dance Revolution which was filmed at Katoomba/Echo Point haha. Made my first vid today compiling the footages taken from Next Gen this yr. It was quite fun making it. Check it out below!

Holidays of 08/09 thusfar

Since holidays have been pretty long and lots of interesting things have been happening, I knew I would forget those memorable moments. So I thought to myself.. I better record the things I on a blog and share it with people. I’ve got the time anyway since I dont have a job. I regret not applying for a job earlier last year =.=. So much time and money wasted just going out and doing nothing productive LOL!

Anyway…. these holidays I’ve been going out a fair bit hanging out with friends and just bumming at home (this is where the nothing productive comes in). At the beginning of the holidays I’ve been playing a lot of basketball. Played in my home town where I got sunburnt  >< (the court is outdoor). I also played indoor with some church ppl and others. That was pretty good. I quit the gym which meant I lacked exercise.. so playing basketball was what kept me fit =D 

What else have I done in the holidays? Went to Kitty’s derelicte party which was pretty fun, went to a wedding, another party which involved alot of walking around olympic park..LOL

I’m getting sick of typing now lol.. wonder how I’m gonna survive uni now.. but anyway just before I finish up I just wanted to mention the highlight of my holidays so far which was NextGen 2009. It’s a Christian Conference that trains people to become youth leaders or better youth leaders haha. It was really inspirational.
